  • Late cancellations or missed sessions will be charged at the full fee.

  • If I ever need to cancel, I will give as much notice as reasonably possible and you will not be charged.

5.3 Lateness

If you arrive late, the session will still end at the original time and the full fee will apply.

6. Confidentiality

Everything you share is confidential except where I have:

  1. Serious and immediate concerns about your safety or the safety of others

  2. Concerns about a child or vulnerable adult

  3. A legal obligation to disclose information (e.g. court order, terrorism offences)

  4. A professional requirement to discuss cases in clinical supervision (identifying details minimised)

I will always aim to speak with you first before sharing any information, unless doing so would increase risk.

This aligns with the approach described in my Privacy Policy.

7. Safeguarding: GP & Emergency Contact

For safety and good practice, I collect:

  • Your GP name and surgery details

  • A next-of-kin or emergency contact

These details are used only if I have significant concerns about your welfare, and always following the principles outlined in my Privacy Policy.

8. Data Protection & Record-Keeping

I process personal data in accordance with:

  • UK GDPR

  • Data Protection Act 2018

  • ICO guidance

  • Professional ethics and clinical standards

I keep brief clinical notes solely for the purpose of providing safe and effective therapy. Records are stored securely and retained for [e.g. 7 years] after therapy ends and then safely destroyed.

Full details are set out in my Privacy Policy and Consent for Therapy Form.

9. Online Therapy Responsibilities

By engaging in online therapy, you agree to:

  • Attend sessions from a private, safe and quiet location

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection

  • Keep your device and software secure

  • Avoid public Wi-Fi where possible

  • Ensure you are not driving or engaging in risky activities during sessions

  • Not record sessions without explicit written consent

If connection fails, I will attempt to reconnect or contact you via telephone.

  • Transmit harmful code (e.g. malware, viruses)

11. Third-Party Services

My Website may link to third-party platforms including:

  • Booking or scheduling tools

  • Payment providers

  • Analytics tools

  • Embedded content (e.g. videos)

These third parties have their own terms and privacy practices. I am not responsible for their content or policies.

12. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g. death or injury caused by negligence).

Otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses

  • I do not guarantee specific outcomes from therapy

  • I am not responsible for disruptions caused by technology, internet connection, or third-party platforms

Therapy is a collaborative process, and outcomes depend on multiple factors.

13. Ending Therapy

You are free to end therapy at any time. Ideally, we will plan an ending session to review progress.

I may also suggest ending or pausing therapy if:

  • We have met your goals

  • Therapy no longer seems helpful

  • Attendance or payment becomes inconsistent

  • I assess that your needs would be better met by another service (e.g., higher-level, crisis or specialist care)

This mirrors the approach in the Therapy Agreement and is in line with good clinical practice.

14. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated occasionally to reflect:

  • Changes to law or regulation

  • Changes in clinical practice

  • Updates to my Website or Services

Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
Material updates may also be communicated via email or discussed in session.

Continued use of the Website or Services after updates indicates acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Complaints

I hope to resolve any concerns informally.
However, you may also contact:

  • BABCP – for professional conduct concerns

  • Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) – for data protection issues

Contact details are given in the Privacy Policy.
